OpticForum UK 2021 is the first OpenRoom event for this sector.

It's an invitation-only forum that connects UK optical groups with a wide range of product and solution providers for the industry who can help take their business to the next level. The forum is designed for supplier companies to meet with owners, managing directors, and procurement specialists of optical groups, through pre-arranged meetings, conference and networking opportunities.

If the inaugural OpticAudioForum is as well attended and successful as the Dental and Veterinary versions it will be an informal yet vibrant business generative event.

As a supplier you can engage with the most important retailers in optics and as an optical retailer you have the opportunity to explore what you may have been missing.

In excellent surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere this is unlike any event you have ever been to and without doubt opens doors to new and exciting opportunities.

Setting the Scene for Total Disruptive Innovation

There isn’t a single market leading UK optical retailer or contact lens company today that existed a generation ago. The leaders of today all started with nothing to loose. With vision care needs soaring over the next 20 years (market opportunity), and technology being available to replace much of the eye exam (innovation), the market is ripe for dispruption. In this session we will map out what a disruptive visioncare market in the UK could look like, and ask: “how ready are todays companies to deal with it”?  We will build a strategic framework for a disruptive company then assess how easy it would be for that company to put todays leaders out of business.

Ian has built a career at the forefront of visioncare innovation. He was an executive in the team that rolled out disposable lenses globally and created the biggest optical education organisation in Europe.
