Senior Director Operations, PDI Technologies

Join the Expert Associate Partner at the McKinsey & Co. Tokyo office and ex-Global Head of Shell Convenience Retail, Klaas Mantel, for an interactive session: ‘The Future of the Fuel, Convenience and eMobility Retail Business: Challenges and Opportunities for APAC’.

McKinsey’s analysis shows that the rise of EV charging can be an attractive business model for roadside retailers: increased wait time at service stations can generate additional convenience sales. However, while some sites have the potential to be developed into integrated EV & fuel mobility hubs, with extensive food & beverage offerings, other stations with different access to EV infrastructure will see fuel transactions and associated convenience sales begin to decrease. Eventually, some fuel stations will likely have to be repurposed.

Expect an in-depth discussion, with audience participation, on the impact of the EV transition on the fuel and convenience retail industry across different geographies and site types. Join the conversation and learn how companies must evolve their convenience offer, adapt the customer experience and capitalise on local market opportunities to avoid ‘stranded assets’.

David will be discussing how our industry enjoys an unprecedented availability of data. But to make sense out of the raw data, it must be analyzed and used correctly. Join David Anderson, VP Commercial Operations at PDI Technologies, as he walks us through practical methods of turning data into actionable insights that uncover efficiency improvements and affect the bottom line.
