Anthony leads the delivery of the RCVS strategic ambition to become a Royal College with leadership and innovation at its heart. In this role Anthony is responsible for RCVS Leadership, a wide-ranging initiative, inspired by Vet Futures. RCVS Leadership supports the development of veterinary professionals’ leadership skills helping them to thrive in the uncertain and complex environment of life in everyday practice, and to take control of our own futures. Anthony has worked at the RCVS for nine years delivering key projects. Anthony holds an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School (2016), an MA (Hons) in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Edinburgh (2004) and the CIPR Diploma in Public Relations (2009).

Andrew qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Bristol Vet School in 1990. He worked for several years in mixed practice in the UK. In 2000 he moved to Bayer Animal Health where he became Marketing Manager for the UK and Ireland. In 2006 Andrew joined XLVets, a collaborative community of independently owned veterinary practices, committed to working together to share knowledge, skills and resources. As Chief Executive of XLVet UK Ltd he has led a team that has created a range of services and initiatives that enable the XLVet membership to first define and then deliver “excellence in practice”.

VetPartners was established in October 2015 with three small animal practices, including Minster Vets in York, where Jo she was a partner and senior vet. VetPartners now has 4,000 employees, working in more than 400 sites across the UK and from its headquarters in Jo’s home city of York. Under her dynamic leadership, the group has more than 100 small animal, equine, mixed and farm practices, and diversified to include other businesses, including a veterinary nursing school, laboratory, research dairy and locum agency. Jo has fostered a culture of warmth and belonging at VetPartners. She has a passion for caring for pets and their owners, while developing the people she works alongside.

Penny joined Blacks Vets in January 2016 as Head of Client Experience and Technology after 15 years working in a variety of management positions within British Telecom and in education. Her experience in the corporate world spanned Sales, Customer Service, Business Development and Project Management. This was followed by a career change into the world of Secondary Education, teaching Business Studies and IT whilst also coordinating support for students with special educational needs. Penny was appointed as Head of Client and Team Experience the following year and appointed to Group Practice Manager from 1st September 2018.

Scott is an accomplished senior practicing Veterinary Surgeon with 21 years experience in the industry. He has experience in both corporate, independent, welfare and charity Veterinary practice while having set up from scratch four private independent veterinary practices both in the UK and Europe. He has worked in a veterinary hospital as part of the clinical team, a sole practitioner in a branch practice and a locum veterinarian in clinics both here and abroad. Scott has also enjoyed a long career in media, appearing on camera to present items for This Morning, BBC Breakfast and The Paul O’Grady show to hosting his own programme Vet on The Hill for 7 series aired internationally.
